Positive Vs Negative
The idea that focusing on what you love is more effective than fighting what you dislike is rooted in human psychology and social influence. When you resist something aggressively, you often bring it more attention, sometimes even strengthening its presence. This is known as the "backfire effect"—when people feel attacked, they double down on their beliefs, and the thing you're trying to diminish gains more traction.
Mother Teresa understood this principle well. She famously said:
"I will never attend an anti-war rally; if you have a pro-peace rally, invite me."
This wisdom highlights the power of focusing on solutions rather than problems. If you protest against war, you're still giving attention to war. But if you promote peace, you’re building something people can rally behind.
The same applies to any cause—whether in business, social change, or personal life. If you dislike certain trends, don’t waste energy fighting them; instead, showcase alternatives. If you want a healthier society, promote wellness rather than criticizing unhealthy habits. If you want a positive online culture, share uplifting content rather than arguing against negativity.
Energy flows where attention goes. When you focus on what you love, you create space for it to grow and thrive. This approach not only brings people together but also leads to more lasting and meaningful change.

My kids have been involved at DG for several years and are closing in on their Black Belts. The instructors have consistently been of high quality and exude an emphasis on both physical and emotional development.
